Texas residents evacuate as Hurricane Laura looms
Residents of Texas have evacuated their homes in anticipation of Hurricane Laura.
Footage filmed by Twitter user @roguegalaxie on August 25 shows heavy traffic on Highway 6 and 35 in Alvin, as residents attempt to leave the areas that will be affected.
Additional footage filmed by @addisonalford shows residents evacuating Beaumont, Texas.
Residents of both Texas and Louisiana have evacuated as the currently Category 1 Hurricane Laura is expected to make landfall.
The National Hurricane Center has predicted that Laura will become a Category 3 hurricane before landfall.
The governors of Texas and Louisiana declared disasters in advance of the storms.
