Rat snake rescued after becoming entangled in construction safety netting
A rat snake in Pune, western India was cut free after it became entangled in safety netting at a construction site on June 14.
Snake rescuer Saidas Kusal was called to the site where a construction worker had spotted the snake's head peeping out.
The snake was so badly trapped in the net it could hardly move. Kusal managed to cut the netting around the snake's body, setting it free.
Kusal said: "The snake was probably caught in the net while chasing a rodent. It had just suffered a few scrapes, so we could release it immediately.”
