South Africa's third-largest party, the Economic Freedom Fighters, marched through the wealthy suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay in South African on December 30, 2018.

Activists dressed in red flocked to Clifton’s Fourth Beach to protest the controversial removal of black beachgoers.

The City of Cape Town released a statement saying that PPA Security, the security company that closed the beach, had no legal or official mandate to do so.

During the demonstration, EFF leadership once again called for the expropriation of land without compensation.

South Africa's third largest party, the leftist Economic Freedom Fighters, marched through the wealthy suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay after racial tensions flared because people of colour were removed and the beach closed on 23 December.

Various activists and organisations flocked to the beaches over the previous two days because of the racist connotations associated with the removal of people of colour from the beaches. The City of Cape Town put out a statement saying that PPA Security, the security company that closed the beach, had no legal or official mandate to close the beach.

During the protest the EFF leadership once again called for the expropriation of land without compensation. South Africa's parliament is currently in the process of amending its constitution in order to allow for expropriation of land without compensation.
