Protesters gather at the Washington Monument in Washington D.C. tonight (August 28) as President Donald Trump formally accepts the GOP nomination.

The angry crowds chanted and marched through the streets of the city before moving towards the White House as Trump delivered his historic speech.
They included Democrat activists and Black Lives Matter supporters hoping that Joe Biden wins at the U.S. elections in November.

Music blasted while protesters marched and danced along to Hip-Hop music. Demonstrators were seen climbing on buses, honking with bullhorns and electric sirens blaring.

As the President delivered his message, starting a little before 10:30 p.m., in the Rose Garden, the honking of horns and loud music from demonstrators was noticeable.

For months, the White House area had been the main focus for protesters to demand accountability for the police brutality against black people.

They voiced anger over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25, the death of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 13 and most recently the case of Jacob Blake, who was shot seven times in the back by a policeman in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 23.
