Removing weed can be an uphill task and also an expensive affair for the agrarian community.

A 30-year-old man from southern India's Telangana has developed a solar machine that uses revolving blades to cut grass at an even length.

Hailing from Warangal Rural district, Raju Mupparapu has developed a weeder that can run for five-hours straight on a single solar charge.

A graduate in BSc (Botony, Zoology, Chemistry), mechanical works did not come naturally to him. But he took inspiration, localised them with his ideas, to make his dream come true.

Solar radiation is a format among the promising new source of energy. India receives annually over 60 x 1000 MWH of solar insulation.

Raju harnessed the natural resources to make an eco-friendly product that can be made easily available to rural India.

According to him, the machine is light-weight and easy to use.

The video shows massive solar panels charging the device.

Following this, the handheld machine slides over the ground while chopping off unwanted weed from the garden.

The project focuses on the design and development of solar grass cutting machine which is an easy and eco-friendly operation of grass mowing.

It demotes the use of alternatives including the use of hazardous chemicals, risking their lives and health.

Previously Raju has made several devices including a pedal-operated liquid soap and water dispenser machine to stay safe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
