Two brothers were evacuated by a team of the National Disaster Response Force in the middle of the night after their house was inundated by rainwater. Heavy rain triggered by a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal led to flood-like situations in several parts of Odisha.

The rescue operation was carried out in Solampur village of Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak district on August 28.

The video shows the siblings stranded in their house as the team arrives in two rescue boats and evacuates them from the waist-high waters. The team can be seen making use of torches to support their visibility in the dark of the night.

Major rivers in the state including the Baitarani, Brahmani, Subarnarekha and Budhabalanga are in spate. Around 7,000 people have been shifted from low-lying areas as parts of the state are facing floods.
