A horse that fell into an open manhole at Hapur Adda crossing in Meerut, northern India was rescued by police with the help of locals on September 1.

Footage shows the moment a large crowd pulling the animal out using heavy-duty ropes and cover the manhole with rocks to prevent further incidents.

The rescue operation took one hour, and the horse was bathed before being released, local media reported.

According to login locals there was a open manhole on the middle of the road inviting accident , on Tuesday morning a baby horse which was strolling in the area fell into it . It took an hour to rescue the horse from the manhole .
After rescue the manhole was covered by rocks so that no such incident happen again . The horse was bathed and then released after its ordeal.
