We were at the @caravan4justice protest in Seal Beach, CA on 8.29.20 to bring unity to the community and support the victims of racial injustice in Seal Beach with a peaceful march and protest. We have been working with Caravan 4 Justice to bring police reform and social justice to our community of Long Beach and beyond through caravan protests, unity marches, petitions, city council meetings and community outreach. The march had just started on PCH and Main Street when this guy, who we found out is a retired El Segundo Police Sgt, started dropping N bombs so I started filming him. He turned his camera on and walked up to our car yelling. I asked him to back away because he wasn’t wearing a mask but he kept getting closer. He called me a N lover and he calls one of our Black activist leaders a N. After posting to TikTok and IG, we got a lot of comments and people trying to figure out who this guy was. @flute_ballou responded to a comment on the video defending his actions and exposing himself. It was clear from the photos on @flute_ballou’s IG that this was the same person, even though he changed his icon photo to a Black man. People were commenting to him on my post and on his instagram. We discovered that people called him Tim on his Instagram and on his old IG comments it shows his account used to be @timkbrenner. We realized he was a retired El Segundo police Sergeant. I updated the photo caption to reveal his identity. Then he found my phone number through my photography website, texted me that he was going to sue me for slander & I crossed a line. He deleted his IG.
