Indonesian woman loses phone stored in a scooter box when buying eggs in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra province. That theft moment caught on CCTV camera installed in the egg shop.

CCTV footage shows the theft took place on Saturday (August 29).

The theft victim on a scooter stops at an egg shop. When they asked the shop assistant for the eggs price, without realizing it, the two perpetrators who were riding a scooter stopped not far behind the victim's scooter.

One of the perpetrators got off the scooter while the driver turned the bike around. The perpetrator walked over to the victim's scooter. Then in just seconds, the perpetrator took the victim's cellphone in the scooter box and immediately ran away.

The victims realized that their phones were stolen when they saw the CCTV footage.

According to the victim, they suspected the perpetrator was following him from behind. Previously they saw the perpetrator stop at a crossroads. The perpetrator allegedly saw when he put his cellphone in the scooter box.

The theft cost the victim 6 million rupiah (300 GBP) in loss. The victim has reported to the police and submitted evidence of CCTV footage and spread it through social media.

"We were negligent in putting our cell phones in the scooter box. Hopefully the perpetrator will be arrested, as his face and features are easily recognizable," the victim said.
