A beauty pageant prima donna threw a tantrum after judges kicked her out in the semi-finals.

Ornapan Na Chiang Mai, 24, believed she had answered all the questions correctly and would sail through to the final five at the show in Songkhla, southern Thailand.

However, the would-be queen - who had been hoping to win - was furious when the judges announced that she was being ejected alongside four others.

Footage shows how Ornapan, wearing a bright pink dress, marched down the catwalk and began arguing with judges as the crowd jeered.

Ornapan was heard shouting at the judges before her mic was cut. She yelled: ''We know when we lose and when we have won. We know when we answer well or not. Also, we know when we don’t deserve to go through into the next round and when we do.''

Judges said the question that sparked the controversy was: ''If the world ended and you got to choose who would populate the new planet, who would you choose, and why? Would you be in that group?''

Ornapan believed she had scored full points for her reply while others who she believed had not answered as well, were sent through to the final.

The Miss Samila 2020 pageant was interrupted for an hour as Ornapan, the No.32 contestant, confronted the directors. She was then joined by the other four rejects and the organizers were forced to stop the next round going ahead.

Contest director Dr. Pawarit Hayiarma explained that sixty percent of the marks were awarded for posture and beauty while another forty percent were added for the intelligence of the reply.

However, feeling the pressure from the would-be beauty queens, he gave in to their demands and called off the event.

Organisers split the 200,000 Baht prize more (around 4,800 GBP) between the remaining 10 semi-finalists and agreed to crown no one.
