CCTV footage shows the moment a woman was forced into a passing car in a terrifying drive-by kidnapping on August 13.

The two sisters were walking down a road in Kolar, Karnataka, India, when a vehicle pulled up beside them and a man pulled one of the women into the car.

Locals immediately alerted the police, who found the woman in a lodge in Tumakuru, 150 kilometres away.

When the police tracked down the kidnappers they had abandoned vehicle and the woman before escaping. They were identified as Shivshankar, Balaji and Deepak.

According to reports, the victim was allegedly kidnapped after turning down a marriage proposal.

She was reunited with her family and the kidnappers were later arrested on August 19.

A woman was walking down the road with her sister in Kolar in state of Karnataka on August 13. A white Innova stopped beside her, a man stepped out, lifted her and forced her into the car. Her horrified sister tried to stop them and also struggled to free herself, but the car sped away.

This terrifying kidnapping was caught on CCTV camera. The incident alarmed passers-by, who immediately alerted the police. Police found that was kidnapped by a group of three men – Shivshankar, Balaji and Deepak. Shivshankar allegedly masterminded the crime because had turned down his proposal for marriage.

Kolar Superintendent of Police Karthik Reddy said the woman was kidnapped and then confined to a lodge in Tumakuru district about 150 kms away where Shivshankar attempted to convince her to marry him. When the police tracked down the kidnappers on August 14, the kidnappers abandoned the vehicle and the woman and escaped. The woman was reunited with her family and the police continued their search for the accused persons, who were arrested on August 19.
