A five-year-old hero boy saved the life of a small reptile that he found freezing to death trapped in a fridge.

Radya Aradhana noticed the shivering reptile inside the ice storage compartment of the family home in West Java, Indonesia on August 6.

The lizard's body was already weak when found and had turned blue due to the cold.

The boy's uncle, Ronggo Kusumo, said: "We don't know how the lizard got into the freezer. We only found out when we were about to get the ice."

Without fear, Radya took the lizard that could not move and ran outside of the house so it can warm itself in the sunlight. Not long after, the lizard whose skin had turned blue again moved and ran.

Ronggo added: "He said he felt sorry for seeing the lizard. He was worried that the lizard would die."
