South Africa's left-wing Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) political party, today descended on Clicks stores after the company failed to respond top their demands to reveal who was responsible for the placement of an advertisement which depicted black people's hair as "dry and damaged" while the hair of a white perosn was depicted as "fine and normal".

The advertisement trended on social media since Friday with many South Africans labelling it as racist and insensitive. Clicks is a national health and beauty retailer with hundreds of stores across the country.

Last night, Julius Maleme, the leader of the EFF tweeted "@Clicks_SA see you tomorrow. Fellow fighters and ground forces: ATTACK!!!"

The protest at the Goodwood Mall was led by by Veronica Mente, the national chairperson of the EFF.
