Wildlife Rescue Trust, a non-governmental organisation rescued a hedgehog from a residential area in western India’s Gujarat on September 6.

The mammal was spotted in Vadodara.

Visuals show the spiny animal seated on a stool after being successfully rescued.

Trust President said that the species is rare and was last caught in 2007 from the same district.

Hedgehogs are solitary and nocturnal animals. During the day they are seen resting under rocks.

They may also live in abandoned burrows of other small mammals. Hedgehogs have a great sense of hearing and smell that they use to hunt food and find prey.
