Hornet attacks and kills wasp
This is the moment I spotted a European hornet attack,kill and eat a Common wasp. The hornets and wasps regularly eat the fruit from my pear tree in Sussex,UK but on occasion the two will come together and the wasp usually comes off losing. I watched 4 hornets eating for 2 or 3 hours and in that time probably caught and ate 4 wasps. All wasps were caught on the ground before the Hornet flew to a nearby bush or tree to eat its catch.
