Topless Extinction Rebellion protesters locked themselves to the railings of parliament in London on Thursday (September 10), using D-locks which are often used for bikes.

Footage shows the women surrounded by a large number of police officers.

Over 20 Topless Extinction Rebellion protesters locked themselves to the Palace of Westminster gates with a push-bike, D-lock around their necks, wearing facemasks with “4C” sign written on them referring to the climate change crisis and the lack of government action.

They had messages written across their bodies which read, 'drought', 'famine' 'wildfires' and 'starvation', referring to the drastic change of the climate, global warming, the animals and the environment as a whole.

Extinction Rebellion are calling on the Government to take action now.
