Over a hundred police shut down Extinction Rebellions peaceful final day of mass protests
Police put an end to 'Extinction Rebellions' last protest of ten consecutive days of protests which began on September 1, to highlight the many causes Extinction Rebellion stands for, on September 10.
The drums were pounding, people were singing, and everyone was in a fantastic mood. Then they started to march up Whitehall, over one hundred police moved in to disperse them. Police moved in and at one point, there were more police than protesters.
The police then threatened to arrest a female 'XR' member for leading the crowd, which they kept saying was in breach of COVID-19 lockdown rules. The crowd eventually dispersed to fight another day.
