Armed robbers follow COVID sanitising protocols before looting jewellery shop in India
Three armed men robbed a jewellery shop in north India, but still observed coronavirus prevention protocols of using hand sanitiser and wearing masks.
The incident happened on September 11 around 1:00 pm in Bannadevi area, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, when the three men entered "Sundar Jewellers" shop wearing masks.
CCTV footage shows the men first sanitising their hands when offered by the shop staff, before drawing guns and robbing the shop.
A team of local policemen rushed to the spot and launched a manhunt immediately for the criminals. A police officer said the jewellers were assessing the value of cash and jewellery looted from their shop.
Allegedly a total of 4,000,000 INR (around £42,508.28) worth of jewellery and cash was stolen in the robbery.
