Bus crossing tracks is smashed by train and carried 800 meters in Nigeria
A bus carrying 8 passengers collided with a commuter train while crossing the tracks on Monday (September 14) in Lagos, Nigeria.
The clip shows a crowd of people around the stationary train checking on the passengers of the bus.
Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said in a statement to local media the bus veered onto the rail track, “A passenger motor GGE 972 GE with six passengers veered onto the train tracks while crossing the rail at PWD inward Oshodi and subsequently collided with a scheduled commuter train.
“The bus was then dragged along for a stretch of the journey before the train managed to come to a complete halt. The Agency was able to successfully extricate the passengers and note that there was no loss of life”, he noted.
