Tens of thousands of people took to streets of Minsk to protest against President Alexander Lukashenko for the fifth weekend in a row on Sunday (September 13).

Footage shows a large group of people moving towards the presidential residency.

According to reports, more than 400 people were arrested during the protest.

On Monday (September 14), Lukashenko will meet Vladimir Putin in their first face-to-face encounter since the Belarus presidential election on August 9.

Tens of thousands of people have been marching in the capital Minsk and other cities, in the latest of several weeks of mass protest against President Alexander Lukashenko.

Large numbers of police have been deployed, blocking key areas.

Police said they arrested about 400 people ahead of and during the protests, dubbed the March of Heroes.
