A forest department official was bitten by a venomous krait snake while trying to rescue the reptile in northern India's Uttarakhand.

According to local reports, late in the evening, DFO of Dehradun Forest Division, Rajiv Dhiman, received a call that a snake was stuck inside a car.

A team of officials led by Ravi Joshi and Jitendra Bhatt reached Prem Nagar to rescue the poisonous reptile.

Tense footage from Prem Nagar in Dehradun City on September 17 shows one of the rescue officials using a snake catcher stick to pull the reptile out from beneath the car.

In the process, Jitendra Bhatt gets bitten on his right hand.

Local sources suggest that Jitendra Bhatt was rushed to the hospital in 15 minutes and is currently out of danger.
