Greece: Boats Moored Off Lefkas Coast Endure Medicane Ianos’ Powerful Winds
Boats moored off the coast of Vlicho in Lefkas, Greece endured the onslaught of Medicane Ianos' powerful winds on Friday morning, September 18.
The video owner said that the winds have been gusting well over 50 knots since around 0300 and still going strong 9 hours later.
A strong Mediterranean hurricane or a "medicane", named Ianos brought heavy rains and gusty winds to the Greek island of Zakynthos and other neighboring islands in the Ionian Sea. The stormy winds started Thursday night and continued into Friday morning.
