Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were arrested on September 19 in a counter-insurgency operation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The three militants came from Kashmir to Rajouri to receive a weapon and cash consignment from across the Line of Control (LoC).

Police said that the three terrorists - identified as Rahil Bashir, Amir Jaan alias Hamza and Hafiz Yunus Wani - are residents of South Kashmir and between the age group of 19 and 25 years.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession including two AK-56 rifles, two pistols, four grenades and Rs 100,000 (USD 1358) in cash.

Addressing a press conference in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said that the trio was chased by the police and 38 Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Indian Army.

One of them hurled a grenade at the forces which luckily did not explode and they were caught alive.

They were in touch with the handlers from across the LoC and had received weapons and cash through drones.

Visuals show the huge supply of arms and ammunition along with the three insurgents with their faces covered.
