'You filthy f**king scum!' London anti-vaccine protesters hurl abuse at cops after man is knocked unconscious during violent clashes
Thousands of anti-vaccine protesters gathered in London's Trafalgar Square on Saturday (September 19) to demonstrate against the latest coronavirus restrictions.
Video shows protesters hurling abuse at police after a man was knocked unconscious.
“Animals!” one female protester can be heard saying in the video.
A male voice can then be heard saying: "If you killed him … You filthy f**king scum. Is he moving? Is he breathing? You f**king scum, man. What is wrong with you?"
Video also shows several police officers arresting a man and bundling him forcibly to the ground amid cries of, "You're a disgrace!" aimed at cops.
Some protesters were seen holding signs that coronavirus was a hoax.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "On Saturday, 19 September, a number of people gathered to protest in Trafalgar Square. Officers were in attendance and adopted the four Es approach to explain, engage and encourage them to leave throughout the day.
"Despite this, protesters remained in the area, putting themselves and others at risk.
"Officers were met with outbreaks of violence directed towards them; the decision was therefore made by the Command Team to take action to disperse those who remained.
"A total of 32 arrests were made for offences including violent disorder, public order and assault on an emergency worker, as well under Covid Regulations.
"Two police officers suffered minor injuries."
The UK government continues to consider stricter COVID measures.
