Farmers in northern India blocked roads in protest against farm reform bills that have been proposed by the government.

Footage from September 20 shows a large group of farmers standing in the road near Kaithal, Haryana as well as using tractors to block road exits.

Bodies representing the farmers have said the bills will favour big corporates, according to reports.

Against the three ordinances issued to the farmers by the central government, a large number of farmers blocked the road at Titram Chowk in Kaithal from 12 noon to 3 pm today. In the road jam on the call of Bharatiya Kisan Union, farmers, laborers and traders belonging to various political parties staged a sit-in protest at Titaram Fold Chowk and staged anti-government protests.


The farmers blocked the road under the banner of the Bhartiye kisan Union against the three ordinances made by the central government.
