In the 21st century, indigenous peoples did not have access to basic services. Neither government officials nor the administration has heard the appeal.More than 3,000 indigenous people to live Champajhar panchayat under Thakurmunda block of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Which, is surrounded by the Salandi River.

The Salandi River is a barrier to access to villages. There is no bridge on the river. As a result, villages are facing the problem. They come and go on dangers. They are deprived of basic amenities like education, health, transportation. They have been able to cross the bamboo bridge.

The Salandi River is surrounded. On summer people managed but on a rainy day, they have a hard time. The only way to get there is to use the bamboo bridge for medical and all other tasks. Many times we have informed to the government of Odisha but nothing happened. If there is a bridge on the river, the people in these villages would have benefited said villager of this area.

August, September, October and November are the worst months for these villagers said Sushanta Mohanta one villager.
