Police officers rescued 54 coronavirus patients from a flooded quarantine centre in Andhra Pradesh's Chennur.

Footage filmed on September 19 shows several officers carrying patients through knee-height floodwater in the Haj Bhavan area.

Due to heavy rain for the past few days, the quarantine centre became flooded and the patients had to be moved to the Global College of Engineering and Technology.

Police officers were lauded for rescuing at least 54 coronavirus patients in southern India's Andhra Pradesh.

The visual came out of Haj Bhavan in Chennur on September 19.

Due to heavy rains for the past few days, a local stream received heavy floods, which entered the facility converted into a quarantine centre.

The sub-inspector Naga Tulasi Prasad along with his team, rushed to the spot and took COVID-19 patients to a safer location using a rope and later shifted them to Global College of Engineering and Technology.

The patients thanked the SI and his team for rescuing them.
