This is the moment a woman was rescued from under a heap of rubble after a three-storey residential building collapsed in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi, western India.

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) officials rescued the woman from underneath a heap of debris on Monday (September 21).

Footage shows the woman moments after she was rescued.

At least 10 people have been killed and several others injured.

20 people have lost their lives while 20 have been rescued from under the debris in Bhiwandi.

Visuals from the rescue operation show a woman being tended to by the National Disaster Response Force teams and being laid down on a stretcher. The rescue teams can be seen breathing a moment of relief and cheering on the successful rescue of the woman.

Eight among the dead are children ageing between two and fourteen years. As per the officials of Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC), at least twenty people are still trapped inside the debris.

Two civic officials have been suspended in connection with the building collapse incident and an offence has been registered against the building owner.

The injured are being rushed to the Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) hospital in Bhiwandi.
