A dairy shop owned by a political leader was looted by over a dozen miscreants in central India's Madhya Pradesh on September 13.

The incident took place in Anuppur's Amarkantak.

The shop is owned by Laxmi Chand Jain, a Congress party leader.

He said that the miscreants were under the effect of alcohol and stole at least 16,000 rupees (217 USD).

He added that a few of them visited the shop a few hours before the sabotage and got into a tiff with an employee of the shop.

They came back later with accomplices and wreaked havoc on the entire premises.

CCTV footage from the vandalism shows a group of young men entering the shop with baseball bats and sticks.

They strike customers and employees inside the shop and barge out of the shop.

They were also reported to be carrying batons and knives.

Prompt vigilance led to the arrest of one of the miscreants on the run moments after the robbery. He was handed over to the local police for further investigation.
