Wild boars are disrupting Hong Kong after sightings increased in urban city.

The video, filmed in Kowloon on September 24, shows a couple of wild boards hunting for food in a bush near residential buildings.

According to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD), the number of boar sightings and nuisance reports has more than doubled in the past five years.

Local people feeding the pigs is one of the reasons behind the increasing number as well as encouraging them to come into contact with humans.

The problem has been brought to the attention of Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor.

A couple young wild boars can be seen frolicking in the forest near public estates in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Over the past few years, encounters between wild boars and the public have multiplied, the animals often descending in human areas in search for food. Despite warnings not to do so, people are often feeding the animals, hence encouraging the contacts with humans. Wild boars have no known predators in Hong Kong except the occasional Burmese python and have been developing at a high rate. Despite concerns that they damage slopes and favour erosion of soil, hunting wild boars is not allowed in Hong Kong.
