Chaotic scenes in Nottingham city centre on the first Saturday (September 26th) since the introduction of a 10 pm curfew for bars and pubs in England.

Police had already dispersed large queues outside of one pub called the South Bank before all bars in the city began to empty at 10 pm.

The streets were packed with people dancing, fighting and stumbling about.

One drinker said that the new measures made social distancing more difficult as everyone was emerging onto the street at the same time.

Nottingham city centre seemed chaotic at closing time on the first Saturday since the introduction of a 10pm curfew for bars and pubs in England.

Police had already dispersed large queues outside of one pub called the South Bank before all bars in the city began to empty at 10pm. The streets were packed with people dancing, fighting and stumbling. Police could be seen trying to keep the peace however one officer was heard saying "at least before it was staggard, now it's all at once and is chaotic". Police were also seen in the city centre making use of the crowds being in the streets by doing spot checks with a drugs dog to try deter people from bringing class a drugs into the city.

Despite concerns of a second wave ni social distancing was being practiced and a large number of people were seen ignoring the rule of 6. People expressed their annoyance with the new curfew saying it was bringing more people onto the streets at once and was stupid.
