Wild monkey sparks panic walking along electricity cables in Thailand
A wild monkey was seen climbing across electricity wires in search of food.
The hungry primate walked along the cables before being given a dragon fruit from staff from a noodle restaurant in Chonburi, eastern Thailand, on September 21.
Footage shows the monkey was prowling along messy black electric wires from post to post which frightened the passersby watching below.
Wildlife rescue workers were called to take the ape back into the woods as locals were afraid it could be electrocuted.
They believe it had ventured out of the nearby forest and into the town in search of food.
One woman, a noodle shop waitress, said: "I saw the monkey walking around the electric posts in the morning and it was still there later in the day. I then gave it some fruit as it looked hungry."
