Despite online calls to march in Causeway Bay, and for "non-peaceful" action at night, only few hundreds of protesters managed to chant some slogans in Causeway Bay, before being relentlessly driven away by riot police. Riot police warned people they were participating in an "unlawful assembly", and later cordoned off whole sections of streets, trapping press and bystanders or shoppers in the process. A family with very young children could be seen held behind a cordon. Later, police deployed the purple flag warning of violations of the National Security Law, before arresting a number of people in a sweep, and taking away 65 persons. Some protesters held up Indian and Uyghur flags, expressing their support to a State in conflict with China and an ethnic minority repressed by China on grounds of "terrorism". A man showed up, in the likness of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un, with a plastic rocket featuring slogans against the communist party. Later, the police announced that 86 people had been arrested as of 22.00, with 20 people fined under the prevention of pandemic regulations.
