A family in the Philippines refused to have Covid-19 swab test in their home after getting into an argument with the nurse.

Two of the family members had tested positive for the virus so the healthworkers went to their house in Cavite province, the Philippines to check on the others who had exposure to the patients.

Cecilia Alonzo burst out in fury when the nurse was about to take their swab samples on the terrace of their house.

The furious matriarch claimed that the nurse did not answer her questions properly and halfheartedly talked to them because "she was already working overtime."

She can be heard saying in the video: "My son asked you about the difference of isolation and quarantine but you were just mad at us for making you do overtime."

In her defense, nurse Elaine Bayacal said that the coronavirus PPE suit muffled her voice so she was not heard answering.

She said: "I wasn't being rude. I even greeted them good evening. I explained to them why I was there. I was hurt to be treated that way."

Village official Jerome Alfaro, who escorted the healthworkers to the house, tried to mediate between the two but the nurse stopped him because he was not wearing protective gears.

However, Jerome claimed that the angry mother still lunged at him to grab his phone when he was caught filming.

After almost an hour, the family members calmed down and agreed to get swabbed before the healthworkers left their home. No one further tested positive for the virus in their family.

Meanwhile, the mother nor the nurse have not yet filed a complaint to authorities, although the village officials are facilitating a meeting so the two parties can talk.
