This is the incredible moment a nocturnal bat appeared to be sunbathing while hanging upside down on an electric line.

Christian Guevarra found the unusual fruit bat enjoying the strong sunlight during a hot afternoon in Camarines Norte, the Philippines.

He said: "It is the first time that I saw a bat that is not afraid of the sunlight. They usually hide in dark places to sleep, but this one likes to be exposed under the sun."

Fruit bats are large, fruit-eating bats that live in warm climates. They're also mammals that feed their babies milk and have hair on their bodies.

Most sleep in groups, hanging upside down in trees, and they search for fruit at night because they are nocturnal, or most active at night.
