Farmers from a remote village in northern India perform a dangerous and exhausting daily ritual just to get to their fields - swimming across a wide river often with their animals.

With no bridges for miles, the residents of Dhamasaya in Gujrat Chota have no choice but to risk their lives to cross the murky waters of the Ashwin river.

The task is even more challenging for the livestock owners who have to somehow herd their animals to the other side.

Those who don't know how to swim float across on inflated tractor inner tubes.

Farmers say they have been demanding authorities build a bridge for years but no help has been forthcoming.

In the state of Gujrat Chota Udaipur City there is a village named Dhamasaya where famers had to face daily hardship to reach their farmland for their farming work .
To reach their farmland men , women have to cross Swim and cross the Ashwin river , they have to take their animal also from this way only .
Farmers says from long time they are demanding to make a bridge so that they cross it easily without risking their life .
Some villagers who don't know to swim , for them they use tractor tyres to cross the river , they sit on a tyre and someone from other end pull it slowly .
Animals can also be seen swimming and crossing the river .
