This was the impressive moment a cheetah chased down a gazelle in the Maasai Mara.

The clip, filmed on September 26 while on safari, shows a cheetah named Nashipai lock target on a gazelle in the distance before precisely chasing it down to feed her and her cubs.

Wildlife photographer Pareet Shah explained: "The cheetah Nashipai looked particularly hungry and she noticed a gazelle resting on the ground in the hot sun which she approached very stealthily and when she was close enough, launched her attack.

"At one point, we thought she would give up as the gazelle darted from left to right. But you can see how she uses her tail as a steering propeller to control her balance at very high speeds. It was a successful hunt and the baby cheetahs didn't go hungry that day."
