The huge jack-up gas/oil drilling rig 'Prospector 1' arrived at the Port of Sheerness, Kent on May 16 to be stored due to a lack of work and downturn in the industry. It was joined in August by sister rig 'Ran'.

However, its owner Borr Drilling has now secured new work for Prospector 1 in the Dutch North Sea, which meant the rig had to leave Sheerness Port at 2am on October 5th.

This footage shows the highly complicated maneuvering required to move the huge behemoth out from its current berth, behind its sister rig 'Ran', before commencing the long tow out to its new destination.

Four tugs were required to complete the maneuver. Ocean going tug 'Manta' was the lead towing vessel, assisted by Multraship's tugs Multratug 17 and Multratug 29, with a further tug Svitzer Meridian required to help it leave the berth, before leaving the 3 tugs to perform the long tow out to the North Sea.
