This is the adorable moment a one-year-old baby was found comfortably sleeping with a stray cat in the yard.

The baby, named Yaya, dozed off with the cat while playing outside in the city of Demak in Central Java, Indonesia.

Andini, the baby's cousin and caretaker that day, was terrified for a moment when she went to check on her but it was lying down beside an unknown cat.

She said: "I thought she may have fainted or something, or the cat injured her, but she turned out to be sleeping."

The loving cousin said they did not know where the cat came from or who it belonged to.

However, the stray has frequented their yard and always plays with the baby whom it appears to have created friendship with.

Andini said: "The cat leaves and comes back from time to time, so we give it food and water whenever it is here"
