2015 Cheng Huang Ghost Festival in Hsinchu City, Taiwan - Ritual Exorcism of the Wandering Spirits
The "Chuchien Cheng Huang (City God) Ghost Festival", an important religious event in Hsinchu, takes place on the seventh month every year, lunar calendar. The main axis of the event is to "perform a ritual pilgrimage and blessing of disease resistance and to eliminate pandemic residues in Taiwan." The community is welcome to take part in the festival and prayer ceremony.
This video was taken on Aug 28, 2015 (the seventh month 15th day, Lunar Calendar), the most important event of Ghost Festival: Ritual Exorcism of the Wandering Spirits. Everyone gather together outside of Cheng Huang Temple to join pandemic pilgrimage.
