A tree fell on a car during storms today (October 6) in Pattaya, eastern Thailand.

The driver, Kittiya, 37, said that the tree crashed down during strong winds and rain while they were driving to pick up their children from the school.

They heard a cracking noise before the tree toppled over onto their vehicle and trapping them inside at around 3pm local time.

Kittiya said: ''The costs to repair our pickup truck are going to be high.''

Rescue workers received the report about the accident. When the team arrived at the location, they found the thorn tree covering the vehicle. The officer also found the driver and the passenger stuck in the car.

The team rapidly cut the branches in the middle of the rain to rescue both the victims. They were unharmed in the accident.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia are at the peak of their annual rainy season, which sees frequent tropical storms and torrential rain.
