A humourous gardener from Toronto has gone viral for poking fun at BBC "Gardeners' World" by giving a tutorial on how to grow your own 12-foot skeleton.

Footage shows a small toy skull being sown into a patch of soil, a stop-motion scene shows the skull transforming into a small model skeleton and eventually becoming a huge 12-foot giant.

"Once you’ve planted your baby skull, water and tend the weeds around it and in no time you’ll have a showstopper of an autumn display.

"Follow along on our news series as we build a haunted garden display, " says the filmer's narration.

The 12-foot skeleton has been a hit at retailer Home Depot and is sold for just under $300.
