Pedestrians use a new 3D crossing installed in Bangkok, Thailand, to cut road accidents.

The painted crossing has been designed so that the white lines appear to be floating from the road.

Road chiefs hope that the '3D Cross Walk' will prevent motorists from driving across and colliding with the many shoppers and locals at the Siam Square centre.

Thailand has one of the highest rates of road traffic deaths in the world. The 2018 Global Status Report on Road Safety recorded an average of 60 deaths a day on the roads.

The rate is the highest in Southeast Asia.
