Police hold property parade for stolen items in southern India
Local police in southern India's Karnataka held a property parade for stolen items on October 3.
The function took place in Mangalore.
Visuals show the retrieved stolen items and cash in packets on display to be returned to their rightful owners.
A cop can be seen distributing the items recovered to the owners.
The total amount of cash paraded was Rs 4,813,951 (USD 65486), while the total value of other properties excluding cash was Rs 10,121,660 (USD 137690).
25 two wheelers, 19 mobile phones, 11 electronic goods and over 2 kg (4 lbs.) gold was included in the parade.
Out of the people who had reported their stolen properties, 49 people claimed their items in the parade.
Pictures of those accused and arrested of stealing the items were also put up on a board along with details of the theft.
The items stolen from January this year until September are valued at Rs 23,833,681 (USD 324168).
