This is the heartwarming moment a bride born without legs summoned all her strength to bravely walk down the aisle on her wedding day.

Rosie Babor first planned to use her wheelchair for the wedding in Cebu City, the Philippines but changed her mind.

The disabled bride said she wanted to experience walking down the aisle like other normal women.

So on her wedding day on October 5, she decided to let go of the wheelchair to reach her groom Mario Perez by the altar by using her hips and right hand.

She struggled forward slowly on the red carpet wearing a custom gown to make it easier for her to move while holding a bouquet of flowers on her left hand.

Rosie said: ''I wanted everything to be perfect for my wedding, so I knew I had to walk down the aisle. It made the day so much more special, overcoming that small difficultly.''

One of the couple's friends, Arvin Sumagang, said they were happy that the two can finally build a family together - with Rosie fulfilling ''every girl's dream'' of walking down the aisle.

He said: "We are happy that the wedding was finally pushed through. They had to cancel several plans because of the pandemic. Their story is inspiring and I am happy that they found each other."

The special day was attended by close family and friends who witnessed the relationship bloom after three years of dating.

The region is still under community quarantine due to the pandemic so they only invited a limited number of people.
