A mesh fence has been installed to prevent tourists in central China from touching thousand-years-old Buddhist statues.

The video, filmed in the city of Luoyang in Henan Province on October 1, shows tourists using their hands to touch the Buddhist art at the Longmen Grottoes Scenic Spot.

In another clip, captured on October 6, fencing was installed in front of the Buddhist art to prevent tourists from touching it.

The Longmen Grottoes is a UNESCO world heritage, which is famous for the thousands of statues of Shakyamuni Buddha and his disciples.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
