Indonesian students threw stones at police officers during a protest against the government's new jobs law.

Footage from October 8 shows hundreds of protesters pelting police officers with stones in Padang.

Tear gas was also used in an attempt to disperse the protesters.

Around 800 high school students clashed with police which saw 84 people arrested, including five non-students.

Agpproximately 800 junior high school students clashed with the police. hundreds of students threw stones and wood at the Indonesian police.

The clash was suspected to have occurred because the police tried to prevent students from entering the demonstration arena because they were considered to be provocateurs. the police seemed to be hitting the students back by firing tear gas.

the Padang city police noted that "there were 84 people arrested as a result of the clash, including 5 non-students" .

after successfully capturing those who were considered provocateurs, the student was taken to the police station for further investigation.
