A kingfisher was rescued from fishing nets that a farmer in southern India put around his house to stop snakes getting in.

After finding the bird - so caught up in the net it couldn't open its beak to make a sound - he called a local animal rescuer for help.

After the rescuer was unable to free the bird with his bare hands, he managed to get the net off with scissors. He did it without hurting the bird, that then flew off.

A farmer in Cuddalore district tied fishing nets around his house to prevent snakes from entering the house. But unfortunately a king fisher came around his house and got struck in the fishing net that was tied for snakes. Its wings got tangled in the net completely even its beak got tangled it can’t even open its beak to make noise. The owner of the house saw the bird in the pathetic situation and called for help from an animal activist.

An animal activist rushed to the spot he tried to untie the bird from the net with his bare hands but his efforts went in vain. He then got scissors and he cut off the net and also freed its wings from the net gently without any hurt. He checked for injuries but fortunately it doesn’t have any so it was left to fly in the sky.
