This is the bizarre moment diners at a noodle restaurant were engulfed in foam from a nearby drain.

The peculiar drainage foam was seen floating around the restaurant in Pathum Thani, Thailand on October 9.

Helpless customers were forced to leave their lunch and take refuge after the filthy water bubbles filled the air.

The filmer said: "As if the sluggish economy wasn't enough. I thought I was in Hokkaido seeing all these white stuff flying around like snow.

"It wasn't clean like all those bubbles from a foam party you see, it was from the neighbourhood's wastewater drain.''

The noodle shop owner apologised for the incident before lodging a complaint at the local government office for the inconvenience.
