This is the stomach-churning moment a 13ft-long python regurgitated a stray dog that it ate for lunch.

The bloated 44lbs snake was found by residents coiled under the thick bushes of a house in Surin province, northeastern Thailand on October 7.

Residents were terrified of the aggressive snake that had killed the stray dog before swallowing it whole.

The emergency services arrived and started the search for the greedy reptile. They found it hiding in the corner of a front yard trying to blend among the unkempt grass.

Rescuer Somphut Butthet, 43, said the wild snake was brave to attack an adult dog then eat it.

He said: "Many snakes will spit out their victim because they become afraid, but this one even tried to escape with its victim still inside.''

The ferocious snake tried to escape but it was too slow because of the huge meal that it recently ate.

Somphut pulled it by the tail to prevent it from escaping into the thick bushes before it tried to bite him,

Rescuers drenched the snake with water using a hose and lightly tapped its body with a rod to make it regurgitate the animal.

After a few moments, the snake started vomiting and the undigested dog appeared.

The dead dog, believed to be a stray, was still intact but some of its flesh had already been scarred from the snake's stomach acid.

The rescue volunteers placed the snake into a sack before releasing it into nearby woodland. The dog was buried in the forest.
